OUTDOOR YOUTH CONNECTIONS NEWS
|
Outdoor Youth Connections is proud to be a major contributor to awesome programs like North Cascade Institute’s “North Cascades Wild” and “Mountain School.” Together, we connect underserved youth to wild places, fostering the development of a stewardship ethic, building awareness and support for wilderness and public lands and engaging students in responsible outdoor recreation.
This year, fifty-one students participated in a 12-day canoe camping, backpacking and service program on Ross Lake in the North Cascades National Park and Baker Lake in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

Outdoor Youth Connections was founded in honor of Larry Ingalls with the help of his "Everett Mountaineer Family," to provide youth with opportunities for outdoor recreation and education. Larry’s legacy is for youth to "revel in the accomplishment..." and reap the same joy from the outdoors that he valued so much as a Mountaineer. Always a teacher, mentor and friend, Larry was a prolific ambassador of The Mountaineers. He loved to hike, scramble, snowshoe and climb, seeking his spirit on the peaks and inspiring others to also find their way.

Our goal is to empower youth and youth groups with financial assistance for access to outdoor recreation, education and gear. Please visit "Apply for Award" to see the youth we’ve helped since 2007.
